Obituary for Donald Steve Douglas

Donald Steve Douglas was born on May 5, 1955 in Kingston, Jamaica, W.I. to parents Alfred Douglas and Mavis Rose, both of whom are deceased. Donald was called home on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
Donald attended Queen's High School with a passion and enthusiasm for music. In 1981, he left Jamaica for Bronx, New York in pursuit of a better life. In America, his passion for music followed him as he became a popular disc jockey and eventually opened a record shop name "D&D Records."
It was during this time that he met Diana, their relationship produced their children Latisha Tanisha, Darryl David , Danita Mavis, and Daniella Kiana, all of whom he loved, raised and protected with all our Lord provided.
Donald was respected and loved by many. He was lovingly called "Danny Dread" by friends and those who knew of him; "Danny" by family, and "Daddy" by his loving children. He was not only crazy about his children and music; his children were crazy about him as well. He was a very happy person who always smiled and loved to dance, take pictures and (of course), play music. He was never selfish, as he never wanted others to fret or worry about worldly possessions. His famous motto was "Watch the heart, Not the mind; God will provide." His presence will be sadly missed, yet we rejoice that his spirit and soul are reunited with his parents and brother, Carlton.
Donald (Daddy) is survived by his partner, Diana, his children: Latisha, Darryl, Danita and Daniella and his sisters: Carol and Jennifer

- Lovingly submitted by his family.
